Year Of The Dragon

Two of our talented fifth graders at PS 153 wowed us with a powerful lion dance 🦁symbolizing strength, wisdom, and good fortune. Our younger participants crafted paper dragons, firecrackers, and noisemakers to chase away negative spirits in a joyful parade. All decorations were handmade by these creative minds🎨Everyone had a blast! ✨

Excited About Science

Encouraging a love for science at a young age! Our after-school program for 1st-3rd graders explored volcanoes with a fun twist – lemon volcanoes! Students witnessed a captivating chemical reaction between baking soda and lemon juice, fostering curiosity and a love for experimentation. Building Towers Together

Sticks & Clay

During a STEM activity our 1st and 2nd grade participants learned about 2D and 3D shapes and the differences between them. This lesson adheres to the New York State mathematics standard to recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, and to Identifying shapes that are polygons or non-polygons.

Harlem Dowling Queens Outreach Family Support program participated in ACS Queens Borough Office's Annual Back to School Event at Rufus King Park. Over 500 children in the Jamaica Queens community were provided with school supplies and more.
