Children's Educational Services
Harlem Dowling-West Side Center for Children and Family Services has been providing after school services in the Harlem community for more than 20 years. We have provided after school programming to more than 1500 youth in Central Harlem. Our program includes the Intergenerational Service Learning program with Logan Gardens, an assisted living residence for seniors. A collaboration with Columbia University Teachers College to provide Health & Nutrition, Literacy, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) educational activities such as a robotics program for older youth are among the various opportunities offered to participants
It is through friends, donors and supporters that Harlem Dowling can continue to be innovative in responding to the ever changing needs of our diverse community by meeting the needs of children and families. We know that we can continue to count on you to be "part of the solution" as you have for 177 years.
Harlem Dowling continues to work with the Garden of Dreams foundation to provide memorable experiences to our children. For the past two years our youth have been part of a six-week street hockey program sponsored by the Garden of Dreams. Current and past NY Rangers have worked with and provided valuable guidance to our children about the game of hockey and the importance of good sportsmanship. The New York Rangers Power Players, as they are affectionately called, will kick off their third season in November 2013.
