-Extended Day nProgram



Harlem Dowling- West Side Center for Children and Family Services partners with The After School Corporation and the New York City Board of Education to provide after- school services to over 400 children of Public Schools 125 and 161 in Central Harlem.

Educationally based with creative arts, recreation, and sports components, the Extended Day Program offers tutorial services and activities ranging from musical dance and computer classes to journalism and craft making. 

Collaborating with the community the Extended Day Program utilizes volunteer tutors from the City College of New York, other community- based organizations, and area residents who want to be “part of the solution.”

Created to strengthen the intergenerational relationships and competencies existing between children and seniors, select students from After School are paired with a senior living in Logan Gardens. Activities include, gardening, art and music therapy, storytelling and more.
