More than half of the New York City children in Foster Care are above the age of 12

For teenagers, adolescence can be a troubling and confusing time.

For teenagers in Foster Care the ultimate challenge is transitioning between the dependence of childhood and the imminent self-sufficiency of adulthood.

The Adolescent Services Unit at Harlem Dowling provides intensive services for young people ages 13-21.

WE AIM:

to create positive outcomes for youth transitioning from care.

to prepare youth socially, culturally and emotionally to enter adulthood with the goal to become significant forces in society.

to assist youth plan strategically for adulthood by fostering skills and competencies for self-sufficiency, proactively planning for their unique future.
